Manager - Data Center Operations

Duties: |
Responsible for the direct management of the Data Centre and all of
the services it provides. This position is the Senior Technical
Resource for the company's existing platforms, in charge of the
technical, operational, and telecommunications functions of the Data
Centre. Coordinates with the software vendors, hardware vendors, IT
consultant and Technical Committee Members for enhancement, problem
solving, certification and other related issues. Responsible for
enforcement and compliance of ITAL/COBIT procedures and processes.

Requirements:
|
Education:
Essential: Degree in Computer
Science, Computer or Information System Engineering (or equivalent
experience) and/ or three (3) years
experience in a similar position.
Work Experience:
- The ideal candidate will be someone who has worked
in the technical area of a major financial institution and who wants
to move into a leadership role.
- Effective written and oral communication skills.
- Knowledge of IT regulatory compliance
issues and structures.
- Excellent knowledge of technical and operational issues
within the area of electronic payments.
- Good knowledge of system functions within area of specialization.
- General understanding of the system development and maintenance
process.
- Strong understanding of customer needs.
- Quality Assurance process training and experience.
- Commitment to quality and methodology standards.
- Proven organisational and planning
skills.
- Experience with various computer
operating systems and environments (UNIX, Windows, Ethernet, Novell,
IBM Token Ring etc.)
- Experience with Informix and/or DB2
Database applications.
- Experience with PC application systems
(Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Electronic Mail, etc.).
- Experience with Internet technology
(HTML, Java, etc.).
- Experience with communications standards
and protocols.
- Knowledge of COBIT

| Key Tasks: |
- Responsible for oversight of the present networks as well as all
new networks/services after their development and installation.
Present services existing:
- LINX network, TTIPS network, White Label ATM network and LINX
Licensees and any other additional services introduced.
- Provides liaison on all matters relating to the above networks
between the Assistant General Manager, the Software Supplier and the
Advisory Committee Members, Licensees and ISOs.
Responsibilities include:
- Maintenance of high availability of the existing networks.
- Weekly report to the Assistant General Manager as well as
immediate and up to the minute updates of any system or network
issues and production of report on the issue after resolution.
- Validate certification, stress test and any other test results
recommended with Members.
- Ensures that documentation is produced and maintained for all
changes and new procedures.
- Ensures that I. T. quality assurance objectives are met.
- Ensures written weekly reports to the Assistant General Manager
are maintained.
- Ensures ongoing direction and training of all IT staff in existing
and new systems as introduced.
- Ensures proper documentation of all training.
- Ensures daily, weekly and monthly system reports are executed in a
timely fashion.
- Manages and motivates a staff capable of addressing technical
issues to ensure effective management and utilization of hardware
and software, while maintaining a high level of Data Centre
services, network reliability, availability and security.
- Establishment of hardware and telecommunications
infrastructure to support product requirements directed by market
demands.
- Manages the establishment and maintenance of the procedures
necessary to maintain the systems at their optimum level over time,
including timeliness, completeness and integrity of the data.
Manages technical resource and support to local development
activities, including:
- Developing and producing management reports that provide
management with information on security and performance of the
system, network and database.
- Functions as secretary to assigned committees.
- To be responsible for the effective overall
administration of the various Systems.
- To be responsible for the development
and maintenance of procedures to ensure the security and integrity
of the Systems.
