Team Lead
(Technical Support) |

Duties: |
To provide leadership to a Technical Support Team that is responsible
for supporting all the technical hardware, connectivity switches,
routers, firewalls, web and application server systems, database server
and/or storage area networks (collectively referred to as infrastructure
components) which form the base hosting environment for ICT systems
within the Government Data Centre. |

Requirements: |
Education:
Bachelors Degree in ICT, MIS, Computer Science, Engineering,
Telecommunications, or other appropriate professional qualifications and
or any other relevant professional qualifications
Specialist knowledge and experience working with international ICT
best practices such as ITIL
Formal training in project management
Working Experience:
5 years experience at a management level designing and
implementing large-scale and enterprise-wide ICT infrastructure
5 years experience managing teams in a fast paced, project centric ICT
environment
Proven ability to develop complex, integrated technical solutions
A sound understanding of working within national, international,
corporate and industry and professional standards
Extensive knowledge of the principles, techniques, practice and
methodologies of ICT-enabling technologies
Solid understanding of international trends in ICT-enabling
infrastructure and enterprise-wide applications, including pricing etc.

Key Tasks: |
Maintain enterprise-wide technical infrastructure to support business
applications hosted with Government Data Centre (e.g. GovNeTT, FSi)
Work with Solution Architect Office to plan and implement enhancements
to enterprise-wide technical infrastructure
Work closely with Application Support Team to ensure business
applications run smoothly
Work with Government Data Centres helpdesk and Application Support
Team to troubleshoot system problems related to infrastructure
components that support to business applications hosted within
Government Data Centre
Ensure compliance with Service Level Agreements that are established
with business application owners and Tier 2 support team (typically the
vendors that develop and/or maintain the business applications)
Monitor utilisation of infrastructure components closely; plan and
execute timely capacity upgrade based on infrastructure resource
consumption statistics and forecasted growth in resource consumption
Manage outsourced vendors for
o Installation and configuration of network peripheral devices
o Configuration of workstations and verifies correct system operation;
repairs computer hardware and software
o Design of wiring plans for computer, network and telecommunications
o Installation and testing of cabling and equipment (including
installation of upgrade cards, memory and other devices to improve
existing equipment as well as assembly, initial testing and final
installation of new computer equipment and related devices)
Analyse site problems and issues with a view to providing solutions
and support for sites connected to the company
Monitor connected sites on a day-to-day basis, ensuring that proper
bandwidth is allocated to each site, and troubleshoot any connectivity
issue
For in-house ICT needs:
o Plan, install, monitor and maintain LAN/WAN and VPN
o Maintain, troubleshoot and upgrade computer related hardware including
individual work stations and laptop computers, printers and scanners
o Provide support in the deployment of intranet connectivity
Work with Solution Architect Office to advise clients on LAN
setup/configurations.
Ensure the availability of the service as part of the daily routine
and oversees continuity management ensuring disaster preparedness of
company infrastructure
Contribute to the development of ICT annual estimates of expenditure
and other strategic / operational plans
Work may require the ability to travel locally and overseas.
